We are currently working on two housing developments in the Cardiff area. Redrow Homes is the client on both projects. The plots range between four – two bedrooms and are traditional build. Between the two sites there is approximately 250 plots with both sites separated into two phases. As part of our package we are responsible for all aspects of ground works. The list below highlights some of the key aspects of the build:

Infrastructure works

• Foul and storm drainage including deep drainage
• Pumping stations
• Service layouts including gas, water, electric and telecoms
• Highways and footways (Section 38)
• Site entrance works (Section 278)

Plot works

• Strip foundations
• Raft foundations
• Internal and external drainage
• Plot services
• Brick work
• Concrete oversites
• Suspended floors

Labour

Between the two sites there is approximately 30 groundworkers split into separate gangs. There can be as many as 20 plots ongoing at one time. Both sites have three thirteen ton excavators and one six ton excavator accompanied by two cabbed nine ton dumpers.
